The Enneagram

I have been studying the Enneagram for a while now through podcasts and reading. I have learned so much about myself. It has affirmed my strengths while also helping me understand my struggles better. It has helped me understand and relate better to those in my family since I can sympathize more with their weaknesses and affirm them in their strengths.

What is the Enneagram?

The Enneagram is a powerful tool that allows us to understand the motivations behind human behavior. It helps us understand our values, desires, and motivations and how those, in turn, inform our actions and reactions. All the numbers have their own strengths and weaknesses. All the numbers will look a little different when they are unhealthy, average, or healthy.

The Enneagram is mapped out on a 9 pointed diagram that looks like a star with lines interconnecting the different points. These lines help us better understand how our number relates to other numbers. It also shows us how we tend to act when we’re under stress or when we’re feeling secure. It shows us what numbers also can show up in our personalities.

Why Does it Matter?

The Enneagram is actually a very holistic way of seeing a person. It teaches us how all the numbers behave and why. It tells us what their biggest struggles will most likely be and what they will do about it. It lets us know how a number will act when they are in a healthy space and how they’ll act when they’re in an unhealthy space. It teaches us how each number will most likely deal with emotions and thoughts. It tells us each number’s biggest fears and core values. I think it can really be helpful in helping someone get holistically well.

Then I can share what I know about the number and you can let me know if that resonates with you. Once we are sure of your number we can talk more about how this is showing up in your life and how it’s affecting your holistic wellness. We can talk about your strengths which you’ll want to utilize in order to be holistically healthy and we’ll talk about what to be mindful of so your weaknesses don’t get the upper hand.
